Purpose of Role

Principle Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Applying sound engineering principles to improve building engineering performance
  • Be involved with HVAC and it’s specific BEMS control.
  • Working with property management teams and building relationships
  • Undertake Engineering and Energy Audits, Surveys & Reviews
  • Manage, supervise, and visit contractors on site and advise on building engineering issues
  • Be part of project team
  • Manage your own workflow ensuring your projects run smoothly and are delivered on time, within budget and to specification
  • Supporting the ETS engineering teams

Personal Specification

The following attributes are essential:


  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical, electrical or Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC)
  • Minimum of NVQ L3 in related discipline


  • Previous experience in technical facilities or building services engineering, maintenance for minimum of 3 years.
  • An understanding of building compliance, statutory and insurance related aspects associated with building services, operation and maintenance
  • An understanding of HVAC planned maintenance formation, and specifications.
  • HVAC / M&E plant operation


  • Ability to see energy saving opportunities
  • Strong focus on quality and exceptional customer service
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret client requirements
  • Fit with ETS values (ambitious, determined, expert, trustworthy).
  • Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude and think outside the box for creative solutions.
  • Proactive with an interest in learning and developing skills further.
  • Competent to maintain the Company and client H&S standards at all times.
  • Ability, flexibility and willingness to undertake travel within the UK and some overseas for the role.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of operational processes to increase efficiency and professionalism
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Job Details

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Location: South West / M4 Corridor
  • Job type: Permanent.
  • Working pattern: Full-time
  • Working hours: 40 hours per week, to be worked Monday – Friday
