ETS 2017 Year Summary

As the year draws to a close we reflect on our achievements during 2017 and celebrate a number of company triumphs.

ETS was founded in 1998 with a simple, but ambition idea in mind: to be recognised as industry leaders in the energy and engineering sector, setting the standard for a growing need in the market for impartial and trusted consultants.  What we have achieved since then has been remarkable and helped pave the way to improving the industry that we operate in.

Our innovative approach to energy management has received numerous awards and plaudits which this year saw the company receive the EMA Energy Management Awards 2017 for Energy Management Consultancy Service of the Year, The South West Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards 2017 for Energy Consultancy / Consultant of the Year, The Petroleum Economist Award 2017 for Energy Consultancy of the Year (Performance Improvement) and second place at the National Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards 2017 for Project Management Company of the Year.  In addition to these awards, ETS was also shortlisted for the Energy Awards 2017 for Energy Data Collection and Analysis (Project Based) and the National Energy Efficiency and Healthy Homes Awards 2017 for Energy Consultancy / Consultant of the Year.

We continue to earn praise for our innovative approach to energy management from respected peers in the industry and clients alike.  During 2017, our consultants have been involved with some of the most publicised energy efficiency schemes in the retail sector, helping support a number of our clients to reduce their carbon footprint and improve their energy efficiency across their estates.   In addition to reducing capital expenditure for our clients from sound engineering practices and equipment optimisation, we have project managed a wide range of energy saving initiatives including Solar Panel installs, LED lighting upgrades, Refrigeration replacements and HVAC repairs.  This year alone, we have helped our clients save a total £2,327,327!

2017 also saw the company expand its workforce from 19 to 27 members of staff which in turn has widened our scope of expertise and specialisms.  In response to this phenomenal growth, our Headquarters was moved from Congresbury to Pill, Bristol, and we opened a new office in Dublin and in Wakefield.   As a result, our communication links have been enhanced and our clients benefit from additional, local support across the UK and Ireland.

ETS has always placed a very high value on innovation and as a result, we have achieved savings for our clients that otherwise would not have been possible without our sustained investment in developing new technologies and efficient working practices.  During 2017, we successfully launched a number of new energy management and engineering tools including, our Generated Engineering and Energy Audit Reports System (GEEARS) and our bespoke Energy Reporting tool.  In addition, we have supported the development of the Energy Institutes (EI), “Understanding your energy culture” tool which is now available from the EI website

With the promise of further market growth in the energy management sector, we anticipate 2018 to deliver even more opportunities.  We therefore have taken necessary steps to ensure our processes and operations are scalable without compromising on our service quality.   Our strategic business plan will ensure the company maintains a sustainable level of growth so that our service levels remain consistently high.

It is evident that this this has been a momentous year for us at ETS and we hope 2018 to be even better.  So, as we welcome in the New Year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their dedication and hard-work, as well as our clients for their continued loyalty.

To another successful year innovating and growing!
