Building Performance Optimisation - Overview

It is well known that buildings tend to not operate as intended which can often cause performance gaps with energy and operational efficiency. Whilst performance gaps in building performance is a multi-faceted issue, data integration is often a key contributing factor. Combining energy data with engineering expertise provides insight into the real causes of tenant complaints, equipment failures and maintenance issues.
Poor performing buildings reduce staff productivity and damage customer experience. Our team of Chartered Engineers, Chartered Energy Engineers, Chartered Energy Managers, ISO 50001 Lead Auditors, ESOS Lead Assessors and technical specialists are experienced in delivering energy efficient working environments that maximise comfort conditions and reduce capital expenditure.

How it works

Building Services Assessment

Our consultants will complete an initial site visit to review the serviceability, maintainability and condition of the plant equipment and controls. We will also use this as an opportunity to assess the buildings energy performance and identifying opportunities for savings. This will form the basis of our building services assessment which will be presented as a report outlining areas in need of improvement and action. Critical areas covered within the report include plant defects, 5-year plant replacement strategies and advice, energy conservation measures and an asset list of all the principal plant equipment.


Our consultants will then discuss with the various Stakeholders the most appropriate course of action and present impartial recommendations to ensure compliance, energy efficiency, plant longevity is maintained and provide technical specification (if required). Where required, we can provide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract tendering, technical specifications for plant and equipment maintenance, utility procurement and project manage the delivery and commissioning of installations / refurbishments and energy conservation measures.

Continual Improvements

aM&T reporting is available through our Technical Energy Centre for energy conservation, monitoring and verification of project success. In addition, we can undertake bill validation and recharge on behalf of managing agents for multi-tenancy buildings using bespoke energy monitoring and analytical software.
