Client: Woodies
Value: €30,000
Duration: 1 month
Role: Energy Management; Technical Engineering
System / Service: Asset & Energy Performance Review
Project Scope
ETS Ireland was appointed to undertake an extensive energy review of Woodie’s 30+ stores. As a result of the company’s continued growth, it was becoming increasingly challenging to manage energy consumption across the estate. It was also difficult to identify the operational performance of the mechanical and electrical assets for each site. The key objective of the review was to support Woodie’s in achieving their long-term goals of energy and operational improvements.
Key Challenges
Over a two-week period, our consultants undertook surveys for a total of 35 stores. Each store was provided an individual report following analysis from our Data Analysts and Engineering Specialists. A detailed review of energy consumption for each site was presented within the report coupled with benchmark comparison.
Our engineering specialists also provided a summary of their findings, detailing health and safety observations, plant conditions and operational efficiencies. Each site was then provided with a corrective actions plan to improve energy and operational performance.
A global view of where attention should be focussed in the short and medium terms was also provided.
Added Value / Achievements
Potential energy saving initiatives identified within the review included LED Lighting upgrade, remote energy monitoring and store HVAC controls upgrades. These energy savings opportunities identified will be used to develop an SEAI EXEED Programme grant funding application. The next phase will include support to achieve SEAI EXEED grant funding to finance these potential projects.
