Earth Day 2024
Earth Day is an important reminder of the urgency of addressing climate change and taking environmental actions. At Energy & Technical Services, we believe every day should be Earth Day, as we should try our best to minimise waste at any point. We’re committed to empowering businesses to embrace sustainable practices that benefit people the planet and profits. Join us as we reflect on the significance of Earth Day, share the environmental actions we’ve taken, and offer practical energy efficiency suggestions for businesses to make a positive impact. Together, we can make a change.
Why Earth Day 2024 Matters:
Earth Day represents a vital reminder of our planet’s fragility and the importance of preserving its natural resources for future generations. It’s a time to unite to combat climate change, protect ecosystems, and promote environmental stewardship. We believe the Net Zero objectives can be more achievable by raising awareness and inspiring action. This year, ‘Plastics’ is the main focus; the ambition is to demand a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040. To follow this lead, our team will gather at the Bristol Downs on Wednesday to pick up as much plastic waste and general rubbish as possible. Together, we can create a greener environment.
Environmental Actions We’ve Taken:
Our team integrates sustainability into our core values and business practices. Here are some of the environmental actions we’ve taken:
- Client Support for Net Zero Transition: We partner with businesses to develop tailored strategies for their Net Zero objectives. From initial energy audits and following energy efficiency measures to facilitating renewable energy adoption and minimising energy waste, we empower organisations to transition to a low-carbon future. Our Net Zero consultancy has significantly enhanced the energy efficiency to reduce energy consumption. With 25 years of support in various sectors, we have saved more than 100k tonnes of CO2 for our clients.
- ISO 14001 Accreditation: This Earth Day, we’re proud to underscore our ISO14001 accreditation. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through measures like monitoring the energy efficiency of our operations, raising awareness among our colleagues and partners, evaluating environmental risks, and adopting more sustainable practices. This accreditation isn’t just a certification; it’s a testament to our dedication to continuously improve our environmental performance and integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business operations. As we celebrate International Earth Day, let’s recommit ourselves to preserving our planet for future generations and take pride in the positive impact we’re making together.
- Advocacy for Sustainable Practices: We advocate for policies and initiatives that promote sustainability and combat climate change. Through thought leadership, industry collaboration, and public engagement, we work to raise awareness of environmental issues and drive positive change at both the local and global levels. We have supported numerous clients for ESOS compliance, SECR reporting, ISO accreditations, and further sustainable initiatives, which not only drive their portfolio more sustainably but also lead the businesses to a greener future.
Energy Efficiency Suggestions:
Looking to enhance energy efficiency and reduce your environmental footprint? Here are some tailored suggestions:
- Energy Audit and Building Optimisation: Start by conducting a comprehensive energy audit to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Implement energy-saving measures such as lighting upgrades, HVAC optimisation, and building envelope enhancements to reduce energy consumption and costs. Discover more
- Renewable Energy Integration: Embrace renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal power to transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy mix. Solar PV can have a long-term beneficial effect on your energy consumption. Our consulting engineers can support a solar assessment along with an action plan that gives you a figure on payback.
- Smart Building Solutions: Harness the power of IoT technology and data analytics to optimise building performance and enhance energy efficiency. Implement smart building solutions such as occupancy sensors, automated controls, and predictive maintenance to optimise energy usage, improve occupant comfort, and reduce operational expenses.
